The IMEAN Standard: What World-Class Skincare Quality Actually Means

If skincare has ever felt louder than it needs to be, you are not alone. New ingredients, new steps, and new promises appear constantly. We created the IMEAN Standard to make the opposite case: high-performance skincare can be thoughtful, clear, and easy to live with.

For us, quality is never one hero ingredient or one impressive number. It is the way purposeful ingredients, Korean formulation expertise, finished-product results, stability testing, and a complete routine work together.

So, what does world-class skincare quality actually mean?

To us, it means looking at the whole formula.

We ask why each ingredient is there, how it works alongside the others, how the product feels on your skin, and where it belongs in your routine. We also look beyond the first application. A product should remain consistent, feel refined enough to use every day, and have a clear reason to exist.

That is the thinking behind our story: fewer steps, smarter formulas, and no extra noise.

Why do we make our skincare in Korea?

We make our products in Korea because precision, texture, and daily usability matter to us. Even a sophisticated formula needs to feel good enough to use every day.

Our global point of view brings together different strengths. Korean expertise shapes how our products are formulated and made. German-derived peptide technology supports our ingredient story where it is used. Our stability standard guides how we think about a formula over time. Each element has a clear role, and together they create something distinctly ours.

Why do we talk about Pisum sativum?

Pisum sativum is the botanical name for pea, and its peptide story is one reason it caught our attention. A 2020 peer-reviewed study examined a naturally occurring Pisum sativum peptide in human skin cells, skin explants, and a short proof-of-concept pilot.

We link to the research because we believe you should be able to see where an ingredient story begins. But an ingredient is only part of what you put on your skin. What matters in daily use is the complete formula: the ingredient combination, texture, stability, and the way the product fits into your routine.

You can read more about our active ingredients, or see how Pisum sativum appears in our Multivitamin Peptide Ampoule and Restorative Peptide Cream.

What do our clinical findings show?

Our clinical findings graphic follows 30 participants over 56 days and looks at the arms, face, and chest. It highlights 35% firmness, 24% tonicity and elasticity, and 19% elasticity.

It also shows how the experience developed over time: skin felt smoother and more hydrated by Day 7, elasticity and tone improved by Day 14, and noticeable firming and radiance appeared across all three zones by Day 21.

What do we mean by Formulated to European Stability Standards?

That phrase may sound technical, but the idea is straightforward: a skincare formula should be considered beyond the day it is made.

Stability testing looks at how a product behaves over time under conditions selected for that formula. Depending on the protocol, this can include its appearance, scent, texture, pH, or compatibility with its packaging. ISO/TR 18811:2018 offers general technical guidance, while each manufacturer defines the right protocol for its product.

So we describe the standard precisely:

Formulated to European Stability Standards.

It is not a certification claim. It is our way of saying that consistency and longevity are part of how we think about quality.

How does our five-step routine fit together?

Your routine should feel complete, not crowded. Ours follows five steps, each with a distinct purpose:

1. Cleanse with the Enzyme Peptide Cleanser to wash away daily buildup without making harshness the goal.

2. Mist with the Peptide Toner Mist for a light, refreshing layer of hydration.

3. Ampoule with the Multivitamin Peptide Ampoule for concentrated treatment.

4. Cream with the Restorative Peptide Cream to finish with moisture and barrier support.

5. Sunscreen every morning as your final protective step.

Cleanse. Mist. Ampoule. Cream. Sunscreen. Nothing is there simply to add another layer. If you want the complete collection in one place, explore The Full Ritual.

A standard you can feel

Our standards are exact: Clean + Vegan. Cruelty-Free. Formulated to European Stability Standards.

But the reason behind them is personal. We want you to understand what you are using, enjoy how it feels, and know why it belongs in your routine. For us, world-class quality is not a slogan. It is the care behind every formula and the confidence to mean every word.
